Did you know that over 12.7 million tonnes of plastic are flooding into our oceans ever year?

Here at Mawgan Porth we see the evidence of that every day on our beach cleans! From large fishermens items to tiny micro-plastics, it can be overwhelming to see what the tide has broght to the strand line each day. It is literally an infinite task to clean up!

To play our part to help, we have partnered with The Plastic Bank.  This amazing charity is working to  establish accessible plastic collection branches within 50 kilometers of oceans and waterways. Their collectors gather plastic waste directly from local beaches, riverbanks, neighbourhoods, and even households – so that it  stops ocean plastic directly at the source.

Not only does this prevent the plastic entering the sea to pollute, poison the fish and end up on our shores,  but the program supports collectors’ income, enabling them to afford basic family necessities. So together, we are uplifting communities out of poverty and giving new life to plastic waste which is then recycled into other products without ever having entered the sea.

How does your puchase help?

Every InfiniSea item that you purchase pays for 10 Plastic sea-bound bottles to be captured by local communities before it enters the sea!  The community collectors then exchange plastic waste at local Plastic Bank branches for bonuses that help provide basic family necessities, such as groceries, cooking fuel, school tuition, health insurance, digital connectivity, and clean drinking water. By offering safe, secure, and traceable sources of income, together we are helping to empower vulnerable communities with a path out of poverty.
